Traditional metal brackets are the most common type of orthodontia and are exactly what you think of when you hear the word “braces!” Here at Olson Orthodontics, we are constantly striving to make braces more and more comfortable. We use 3-M metal brackets that are adhered to the teeth and through a series of wires, move teeth gently into their ideal locations. Our brackets are a pre-pasted bracket that allows for a precise amount of glue to help with proper bonding and reduce the amount of excess glue creating staining around the edges of the bracket.
SELF-LIGATING BRACKETS
One way we address comfort is by offering self-ligating brackets which create beautiful smiles using small “doors” instead of elastic ties to hold the wire in place. Since there are no elastic ties to tighten your adjustments are more comfortable and it’s easier to keep your braces clean because the wires move within the brackets.
CLEAR BRACES
Another option for traditional “style” are clear braces. We use 3-M Clarity Advanced Ceramic Brackets™ which are great options for patients who desire treatment options that are discreet but aren’t a candidate for Invisalign or don’t want clear aligners.
